Willian claims Chelsea have player with “great potential” like Barcelona star Lamine Yamal | OneFootball

Former Chelsea winger Willian has compared Brazilian sensation Estevao Willian to Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal.

Chelsea agreed a deal worth up to £51.4m last summer with Palmeiras for the precious 18-year-old, who’s been hailed as the biggest talent in South America.

Estevao will link up with is new team-mates after the Club World Cup and there’s a lot of excitement surrounding his arrival at Chelsea.

Willian compares Estevao to Yamal

Chelsea have heavily targeted the South American market under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Captial ownership and the Blues beat a number of Europe’s top clubs to Estevao’s signature.

The teenager has broken records set by Neymar in the Brazilian league, and Estevao revealed he will be living a dream by joining Chelsea.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding the teenager, but this is a huge move both in football and life terms for the teenager.

Jason Cundy isn’t getting carried away and believes it might take some time for the Brazil international to establish himself in the starting line-up.

There’s no doubt about his talent and Estevao is certainly one of the best players in the world for his age, and former Chelsea winger Willian has likened him to Yamal.

“Without a doubt, he has a lot of potential, a lot of quality,” he told ESPN Brazil.

“The player has the advantage of still being so young, but with great potential like Lamine Yamal, they have a similar style.

“I hope that he can be very successful here in England playing for Chelsea, he can win many titles, score a lot of goals with the Chelsea jersey, and he will help to win titles over the years.

“My advice is that he dedicate himself to the fullest. In England, football is quite different to what he is used to. When he gets here I think he needs some extra work at the club.

“I’m sure he has a very good head. There’s no need to argue about his quality.”

Kendry Paez also joining Chelsea

Estevao isn’t the only South American joining this summer and another top talent Kendry Paez will also join the club.

Paez along with Estevao are probably the two biggest talents in South America and the Ecuador international could make his debut in the Club World Cup.

It’s been rumoured Paez could go on loan to sister club Strasbourg next season but no final decision has been made yet.
