According to a report from Marc Mechenoua, Paris Saint-Germain and Willian Pacho (24) have reached an agreement in principal which would see the Ecuadorian international defender sign a new contract extension at the Parc des Princes. The centre-back’s new contract with the UEFA Champions League winners is expected to run until 2030, with an option for an additional year.
The PSG defender has been instrumental in the French capital club’s success since he arrived in Ligue 1. Playing a pivotal role in the most successful season in Les Parisiens’ history, the former Eintracht Frankfurt defender has made 65 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions.
Liverpool are admirers of the 24-year-old defender, Le Parisien understands. The Premier League champions see the Ecuadorian as a potential option to bolster their defensive options. However, the centre-back now looks set to stay at his current club. Whilst an agreement in principle has been reached, the new deal isn’t yet finalised and negotiations are ongoing.
