Jack Wilshere will take over as Norwich City interim boss for the final two games of the season following the sacking of Johannes Thorup.
The 36-year-old Dane took charge of the Canaries at the start of the season but has been dismissed alongside his assistant Glen Riddersholm with the club currently 14th in the table – some 13 points off sixth-placed Coventry City and only eight points ahead of 22nd-place Luton Town.
Former Arsenal player Wilshere will be in the dug out for Norwich's final two games of the season, away to Middlesbrough this weekend and then at home to Cardiff City on the final day – a game that will see him against another ex-Gunner turned interim manager, Aaron Ramsey.
"While we made this appointment with a long-term focus and in line with our wider club strategy and direction, unfortunately recent results and performances have deemed it necessary for us to make a change," Norwich City sorting director Ben Knapper said about the decision.
"[Thorup and Riddersholm] are both fantastic people who worked tirelessly to help improve and move our football club forward. We all wish the two of them the best in the next stage of their respective careers."
