With three Brazilians: Portuguese paper 🇵🇹 names biggest World Cup flops

Portuguese newspaper A Bola put together a lineup of disappointments from the FIFA World Cup.

The list has 11 ‘starters’, as well as 12 ‘substitutes’, and includes three players from the Brazilian national team: Gabriel Magalhães, Neymar and Raphinha.

One goal in two games. The iconic playmaker started the tournament injured and played only 14 minutes before taking over the attack in the closing stages of the round of 16 against Norway. He scored, got involved in a heated argument... and was eliminated

Two games. The expectation was that he would take on a leadership role for the national team alongside Vinícius, but his performances against Morocco and Haiti were poor. He missed the rest of the tournament due to an injury suffered in the second match

Five games. The center-back played in every match, but was linked to Brazil’s lowest points in the tournament. Saibari and Haaland got the better of him in decisive duels against Morocco and Norway, respectively

Not even Portuguese idol Cristiano Ronaldo was spared. The veteran was also placed on the list with the argument that “the numbers mask a disappointing campaign.”
