FC Barcelona had a huge opportunity on Sunday, with the chance to win La Liga with a victory against their biggest rivals Real Madrid in El Clásico.
But Barcelona backup goalkeeper and former Gunner Wojciech Szczesny was distracted in his preparations by Arsenal’s game against West Ham United.
“Before the game everyone was preparing for El Clásico and I’m just trying to find out if Raya was fouled,” Szczesny told Eleven Sports PL.

Szczesny was referring to the late VAR decision to rule out West Ham’s equalising goal against the Gunners, after David Raya was fouled in the build-up.
The presenters asked the Poland international whether Raya was genuinely fouled.
“He was,” Szczesny answered. “You’re asking a goalkeeper, so… Yeah, that’s a foul. They were holding onto his arm and he couldn’t jump properly.”
Szczesny was then asked about the Champions League final, and whether he thinks Arsenal will win it.
“Don’t ask me about that!” Szczesny answered. “Don’t ask me yet. It’s tough [to talk about it, because] right now I’m trying to enjoy my own win, and that other thing… those two trophies left (for Arsenal), it’s stressing me out quite a bit.”

Eleven Sports reporter Radoslaw Przybysz confirmed on social media afterwards that Szczesny also intends to go to the Champions League final in Budapest, so it seems as though he’ll be there supporting his old team in person.
For the time being, he’ll be enjoying Barcelona’s celebrations, after a 2-0 win earned them their own league title.
