VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Fraser Hornby from SV Darmstadt 98 on a contract running until 2030.
Following their relegation from the Bundesliga, Die Wölfe will be hoping the 26-year-old forward can help fire them straight back to the top flight.
“Players like Fraser are highly sought after on the market because they bring an extremely strong overall package. With his dynamism, his technical quality, and also his personality, he will definitely help us, especially since he already knows the 2. Bundesliga. It’s no coincidence he was vice-captain in Darmstadt,” said VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Pirmin Schwegler.
“How clear he was in his decision for VfL impressed us. Fraser also had other options and could, for example, have moved to the Bundesliga. So we are very pleased that we were able to convince him to join VfL Wolfsburg.”
Hornby, who racked up 13 goals and eight assists for Darmstadt in 25 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga last season, said:
“When I was here in Wolfsburg a few weeks ago and spoke with many people at the club, I immediately had a good feeling. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to move here and that this is the next step in my career. I am very excited about the challenge and what I can achieve here. I am very proud to be here,” said Fraser Hornby.
