The FA revealed that Wolves paid £26m to agents between February 4, 2024 and February 4, 2025, almost double the previous year, prompting a backlash from supporters.

The club rank as the Premier League’s seventh-highest spenders on agent fees, despite having spent most of the campaign at the bottom of the table.

The latest total follows £13.5m in the preceding year and £13.3m the year before.

Fans on X voiced anger, with some arguing that such outlay reflects poor stewardship and could prove a major factor in any relegation, calling it unacceptable. Others felt money had been squandered on underwhelming signings and said last summer’s recruitment resembled panic amid struggles to attract players.

Several supporters described the figures as further evidence of a badly run club. Some argued spending at that level should yield top talent, contrasting the days of Neves and Jota with arrivals such as Arias and Jackson. There were also calls for performance-based payments and a cap setting agent commissions at a maximum percentage.
