West Ham's relegation to the Championship inevitably means that they will have to wave goodbye to some of their star players, who have proven their worth in the Premier League in recent seasons.

For example, according to TEAMtalk, Mateus Fernandes has attracted interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal, with the Old Trafford club leading the race for his services.

However, unsurprisingly for a side who have suffered relegation, several West Ham players failed to perform in the Premier League this season, and are unlikely to get a move away from the London Stadium.

One such man is winger Adama Traore, who has failed to make a single goal contribution in 24 top-flight outings this term, having moved across London to sign for West Ham from Fulham in January.

Largely thanks to his electric pace, the former Barcelona and Aston Villa man has previously thrived in the Championship, though, which is good news for the Hammers.

Traore was a key asset for Boro when they reached the play-offs in 2018, notching five goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances during the 2017/18 second-tier campaign, while lighting up the division beyond mere output with frightening speed and trickery when standing up and going against opposition full-backs.

Wolves subsequently saw the best of the ex-Villa ace when he scored six goals and registered 11 assists across all competitions in the 2019/20 season, including four goals and nine assists in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Football Insider have reported that Man United could explore a deal for Bowen, as Michael Carrick looks to bolster his ranks following his appointment as permanent boss.

Losing both the England international and the Dutchman would obviously hamper the Hammers' chances of winning promotion back to the Premier League.

However, Traore has the quality required to help the Hammers perform at the right end of the Championship table, which both Wolves and Middlesbrough would be envious of.
