Cesar Peixoto's Wolves are drilling wide play in Portugal as his ideas bed in. According to ExpressAndStar.com, recruitment remains ongoing and the club are likely to seek further wide options.

New £7.7million signing Rafiki Said has mostly operated from the left and can go either way. In small-sided work he struck the post from range with his right, underlining a two-footed threat that could trouble sides in 2026/27. His English needs work and he is currently communicating largely in French.

Mateus Mane's versatility has seen him used on both flanks, often opposite Said. The 18-year-old looks sharper and stronger after adding muscle, and, if Wolves keep him, he could be a real asset.

With a back four likely, Rodrigo Gomes is expected to play higher and has trained mainly on the right. His energy is constant, and the next step is sharper decision-making.

Fer Lopez can play on either flank but has often been used as a number 10. After a tough spell and a loan to Celta Vigo last season, he looks happier, with Wolves keen to keep him. Peixoto is understood to admire him and prepared to use him in the Championship if he copes physically.

Tom Edozie, who scored a late equaliser on his Premier League debut against Arsenal in February, has made a solid start. He still has work to do to claim a squad place, but his dribbling, quick feet and early delivery stand out.

Enso Gonzalez, 21, is back with the first team after a serious knee injury in 2024. He has shown pace and some bright moments out wide, though there is hesitancy, so a loan may suit.
