Wolves have published their retained and released list, and the club said in a statement that Angel Gomes will return to his parent club at the end of his loan and will not be signed permanently.

Gomes joined from Marseille until the end of the season, with a £6 million option that will not be exercised.

Ladislav Krejci’s loan from Girona has been made permanent. Wolves paid a £6 million loan fee and will now add £20 million. The move was expected after he met appearance triggers, while interest from Leeds and other clubs remains in signing him from Wolves this summer.

Matt Doherty’s previously announced exit has also been ratified in the update.

Defender Dexter Lembikisa departs after nine years at the club, having joined aged 13 and debuted in November 2022. He has had loans at Rotherham United, Hearts, Yverdon-Sport, Barnsley and Lincoln City.

Early spells at Rotherham and Hearts were viewed as a springboard, but injuries, including during his time in Switzerland, disrupted progress. The view is that a fresh start elsewhere now suits both parties, and he leaves with praise for his professionalism and best wishes for a long career.

Seven academy players are also moving on, with Ty Barnett, Harvey Griffiths, Arthur Nasta, Bjorn Marwa, David Osifo, Fabian Salmon and Jake Wilcox released. A new deal has been offered to Conor McLeod.
