Wolves defender set to depart this summer | OneFootball

Wolves defender Ki-Jana Hoever is expected to leave this summer after being left out of the club’s pre-season trip to Portugal.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Cesar Peixoto’s squad are training on the Algarve this week, but Hoever has stayed behind as the club and player work on a solution with one year remaining on his contract.

He is focusing on securing a move while Peixoto continues preparations with the rest of the group.

The Dutchman joined from Liverpool in 2020 in a deal worth up to £13.5 million, but has struggled to establish himself at right-back. In the six years since, he has made 33 senior appearances and had loans at PSV, Stoke, Auxerre and Sheffield United.

Tolu Arokodare has also not travelled as he closes in on a move away, after loan proposals from Fiorentina and Trabzonspor were rejected.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is the other senior absentee, due to ongoing shoulder rehabilitation, and he is also likely to leave during the window. Manchester United showed interest but have signed Karl Darlow, while Everton are the latest club to be linked.
