With relegation confirmed, Wolves are reshaping for the Championship and Rob Edwards has said some players 'need to go'. According to ExpressAndStar.com, nine loanees could return with contract calls looming.
Nasser Djiga, a £10m 2025 signing, played 40 times on loan at Rangers and has four years left. Ki-Jana Hoever made six starts and 10 substitute outings at Sheffield United and returns with one year remaining. Nigel Lonwijk started 34 times for Luton Town, helped win the EFL Trophy, and is out of contract this summer.
Tommy Doyle logged 19 league starts and 19 cameos at Birmingham City and has two years left. Marshall Munetsi scored four in 14 Ligue 1 games for Paris FC, and he has been linked with staying there next season, though he is tied to Wolves until 2028. Boubacar Traore started 16 times for Metz and, with a year remaining, looks likely to depart.
Tawanda Chirewa’s Barnsley loan ended through injury, and he returns with a year on his deal. Fer Lopez rejoined Celta Vigo in January, scoring twice in 20 outings including a European strike, and they want to keep him, potentially on loan, while he is contracted until 2030.
Sasa Kalajdzic finally put together a run at LASK, scoring six in 24 after two early-season Wolves appearances, and has one year remaining. Decisions across the squad now sit alongside recruitment plans for the second tier.
