According to the Express & Star, Wolves have opened talks with Kieran Trippier over a potential free transfer, amid intense rival interest, and have also spoken to several free agents as they reshape for the Championship.
Relegated weeks ago after a dismal campaign, Wolves are focused on bouncing back at the first attempt and know this summer’s recruitment must be sharper than last year.
Trippier will leave Newcastle United when his contract expires this summer, and he received a warm reception from home supporters at the weekend during his final match there.
Across four and a half years at Newcastle, the full-back scored four goals and recorded 29 assists, including four this season. He has captained the side regularly and is widely viewed as one of their most influential signings since the 2021 takeover.
Primarily a right-back, Trippier can also cover on the left, which would add flexibility to Wolves’ options if a deal is agreed.
