Wolves recorded a £15.3m loss in their 2024/25 accounts, a fourth straight year in the red. The 13-month period to 30 June equates to a £1.5m profit on a 12-month basis.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the club last posted a profit in 2020/21 and has reported losses in every season since.

The extended year-end aligned Wolves with Premier League peers and contract cycles. It also allowed last summer’s sales to fall into these accounts.

Matheus Cunha joined Manchester United for £62.5m and Rayan Ait-Nouri moved to Manchester City for about £33.5m, rising to £36m. Together with earlier exits, including Max Kilman and Pedro Neto, player sales profit rose to £117m from £64.6m in 2023/24.

Spending on recruits and new deals, plus Gary O’Neil’s sacking and Vitor Pereira’s arrival, pushed amortisation and impairment up to £87.8m from £67.2m. January business under Pereira included Emmanuel Agbadou at £16.6m and Marshall Munetsi at £15m, helping deliver a £29.2m net player trading profit.

Wolves did not replace Kilman after his £40m switch to West Ham, and Neto’s sale to Chelsea for up to £54m led to a late loan for Carlos Forbs that had little impact. Those choices, among others, have contributed to likely relegation in 2026.

Revenue fell to £172m from £177.7m as the finish slipped from 14th to 16th and one fewer UK TV game was shown, 15 not 16. Commercial income rose by more than £1m, while average attendance dipped from 31,265 to 30,881.
