Wolves’ Rafiki Said sidelined by high-grade MCL knee injury | OneFootball

Wolves winger Rafiki Said will be out for at least two months with a high-grade MCL knee injury sustained in pre-season, so he will miss the start of the season.

The £7.7 million signing, who arrived earlier this month, suffered the problem 20 minutes into his second friendly on the trip to Maidenhead. According to ExpressAndStar.com, director of performance Phil Hayward said it happened when a blocked shot strained the inside of his knee and that it is a high-grade medial collateral ligament injury.

Said will wear a brace for about six weeks and receive injections to aid healing. During that spell he will be limited to gym and strength work, before building back into training over the following weeks.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde faces a number of weeks out after a hamstring issue in training. He had only returned last week after representing Haiti in the World Cup.

Fer Lopez missed the Maidenhead and Real Sociedad friendlies with a minor groin problem but has trained this week and will be available for the final two friendlies of the summer.

Adam Armstrong should continue to be available after recovering from a calf knock.

Sam Johnstone has also stepped up his rehabilitation after shoulder surgery towards the end of last season.
