Wolves return for pre-season as Cesar Peixoto begins tenure ahead of Championship campaign | OneFootball

Wolves players reported back for pre-season on Monday as Cesar Peixoto formally began work as head coach.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Peixoto arrived at Compton last week and welcomed the squad as early testing and training started.

New signing Kieran Trippier was among the group, with the club targeting an immediate return to the Premier League.

Senior figures including Andre and Mateus Mane were present, and loan returnees, including Nasser Djiga, checked back in.

Players who featured at the World Cup will receive extended breaks, and the squad are due to depart for a training camp in Portugal soon.

None of the eight Wolves World Cup players will travel to Portugal, each given three full weeks off from their elimination date.

Their first friendly in front of supporters is at Maidenhead United on 22 July.
