Wolves have completed the signing of Rafiki Said from Standard Liege, the 26-year-old winger agreeing a three-year contract with an option of a further 12 months for a £7.7 million fee.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the left winger moved to Belgium last year from Troyes and scored eight times last season, and now switches to the Championship.

The squad returned to pre-season at the start of the week and will soon head to Portugal for a training camp, with Said joining the trip after completing his move.

Chairman Nathan Shi outlined a push for more pace and attacking threat, saying wide options were central to plans and welcoming the timing of the deal.

Head coach Cesar Peixoto believes Said’s speed and one v one ability suit his approach, and praised the winger’s humility, work rate and hunger to succeed at Wolves.

Technical director Matt Jackson described the new arrival as an early priority target, noted he had tracked him since his time at Grasshoppers, and said he fits the athletic, attacking profile they require.
