According to ExpressAndStar.com, two paintings honouring the late Diogo Jota were unveiled at Molineux on Friday ahead of the FA Cup tie with Liverpool, and will hang permanently in the Stan Cullis stand reception.

The former Wolves forward died last summer alongside his brother Andre Silva, prompting an outpouring of grief as supporters laid flowers around the Billy Wright statue.

Petals from those tributes were collected to make ink, which former Wolves defender Jody Craddock used to produce the two large works.

An intimate unveiling was attended by coaching staff, first-team players and the club hierarchy, with head coach Rob Edwards, Rui Pedro Silva and Rui Fuste present, and club director John Gough leading proceedings.

Craddock said the commission filled him with pride, praised the idea of turning flowers into paint and felt honoured to be trusted with pieces intended to hang forever. He added he was pleased with the pair and their balance.

Gough called it a club-wide memorial that includes fans’ tributes and said Craddock captured Jota well, adding that bringing all departments together to remember one of Wolves’ outstanding players was fitting.

Both paintings will be reproduced for permanent outdoor installations at Molineux. Wolves and Liverpool supporters also paid tribute during Tuesday’s Premier League game, with further recognition in Friday’s FA Cup tie as six flags were raised in the South Bank in the 18th and 20th minutes, reflecting the numbers he wore for both clubs. Local artists created the flags.
