Wolves are weighing a summer move for experienced right-back James Tavernier as they prepare an overhaul. ExpressAndStar.com understands that the 34-year-old is among several options being assessed for next season.
Tavernier will leave Rangers when his contract expires at the end of the season, ending an 11-year spell. He has worn the armband since 2018 and lifted the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and League Cup.
He also led Rangers to the 2022 Europa League final, where they lost on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt. Renowned for his output, he has scored 144 goals in 563 appearances for the Glasgow club.
In a message to supporters, Tavernier described the call as difficult and said Rangers has shaped his life and family. He added that captaincy has been a profound honour and that, while he feels ready for a new challenge, his focus remains on finishing the season strongly and pushing for the title.
Wolves are also keen on midfielder Dan Neil, who will leave Sunderland this summer once his deal expires, following a loan at Ipswich. The 24-year-old has captained Sunderland to Championship promotion and is viewed as a potential boost in midfield, with Andre and Joao Gomes likely to be sold.
Wolves are also monitoring Torino winger Alieu Njie. The 20-year-old has one goal and one assist in 11 Serie A appearances this season and has started only once. Since his senior debut in 2024, he has featured 31 times in all competitions, scoring twice and providing one assist.
