In what was the first season under Andrée Jeglertz’s tutelage, the Blues enjoyed an phenomenal term which saw us lift the Barclays Women’s Super League title and FA Cup.

Now the dust has settled on an iconic season, we’ll be looking back at the displays which made winning The Double for the first time possible - starting with our goalkeepers.

AYAKA YAMASHITA

Appearances: 20

Clean sheets: 8

Ayaka Yamashita entered her second season at City looking to add to her impressive trophy cabinet – and her reliable, composed displays aided the Blues’ pursuit of glory in 2025/26.

She tallied 20 games in all competitions as one of most trusted members of Jeglertz’s squad and she more than repaid the Swede’s faith.

In the WSL alone, her goals prevented tally of 4.7 was the second highest across the division and her top-flight clean sheets of seven was also only bettered by Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton.

Meanwhile, she also won 12 duels (the joint third-highest among the top-flight’s goalkeepers) and produced a save percentage of 76.5%.

In a swathe of standout moments, one of her more eye-catching moments came first in a crucial 2-1 win over London City Lionesses which proved to be a precious three points in the title race.

After Kerolin had gave us an early lead away from home, Freya Godfrey broke clear of our defence and looked certain to score before her fizzed effort was spectacular tipped onto the post by Yamashita who showcased her immense reading of the game and reaction skills.

And, perhaps fitting of the season she enjoyed, the Japan international kept a clean sheet in City’s 4-0 FA Cup final victory over Brighton as the Blue signed off from the season in style.

KHIARA KEATING

Appearances: 9

Clean sheets: 4

Always on hand to step up to the required challenge, Khiara Keating again showcased her sparkling ability and potential during the campaign.

She played every round in the FA Cup and was a key figure in our quest for the major trophy, keeping three clean sheets in her four appearances in the competition before injury ruled her out of the final.

And arguably Keating’s standout moment of the term came in City’s enthralling 3-2 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final where we came from two goals down to prevail at Stamford Bridge.

This may take a few seconds. Press play when it’s ready.

After goals in the final five minutes from Mary Fowler and Bunny Shaw sent the tie to extra-time, the Jamaican then headed the Blues in front during the additional 30 minutes.

Needing to survive an onslaught from the Londoners to preserve our lead and reach the showpiece, Keating then produced a remarkable save to deny Sjoeke Nusken.

A cross into the box was met by the Chelsea midfielder whose header looked likely to nestle into the net before our goalkeeper sprung into the air and tipped the ball onto the crossbar before we cleared our lines.

It was a moment of precious individualism which was crucial to our pursuit of the Double.

EARTHA CUMINGS

Appearances: 3

Clean sheets: 1

A summer signing from Rosengard, Cumings added vital experience and competition into our goalkeeping department across the season.

And across her three outings in all competitions, she maintained an 100% win percentage.

The Scotland international made her debut in a Subway Women’s League Cup victory over Everton and then registered a clean sheet in a 2-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest as we progressed into the competition’s knockout phase.

She then started her first WSL fixture of the term on the memorable day City finally got our hands on the trophy.

Having already been crowned champions 10 days before our final league outing of the season at West Ham, it was a party atmosphere at Chigwell Construction Stadium among those of a sky blue persuasion.

And Cumings produced a strong display against the Irons which included a fantastic second-half save to deny Vivane Asseyi from close range.
