England will play Spain in the Women’s Euro 2025 final on Sunday, and here SheKicks compares the Lionesses’ odds this weekend to their previous finals at Euro 2022 and the 2023 World Cup.

Sarina Wiegman’s side are competing in their third consecutive major final after beating Germany in Euro 2022 and losing to Spain in the 2023 World Cup.

Should the Lionesses win, it would be the first time that a senior England side in the men’s or women’s game has successfully defended a trophy.

What are the odds for England vs Spain in the Euro 2025 final?

The UK’s top football betting sites have the Lionesses priced as 2/1 underdogs to win the trophy in Basel this weekend.

Throughout the majority of the tournament, Sarina Wiegman’s side have been second-favourites to Spain.

This remains the case going into the final, with Spain currently priced at 1/3. This is perhaps no surprise given how Spain have performed at the tournament.

Spain’s route to the final of Euro 2025 has been relatively drama-free. Montse Tome’s side steamrolled through the group with three victories and 14 goals.

They then beat Switzerland 2-0 in the quarter-finals despite missing two penalties during the game. Spain were taken to extra-time by Germany in the semi-finals where Aitana Bonmati scored to send them through to the Euro 2025 final.

How England’s odds compare to their previous finals

Unlike this weekend’s final against Spain, the Lionesses were favourites going into their Women’s Euro 2022 final against Germany.

Despite previously never winning the tournament, they were playing on home soil at Wembley Stadium, with the majority of the 87,000 fans in attendance there to cheer the Lionesses on.

Some bookmakers gave England 5/6 odds of winning Euro 2022, compared to Germany at 11/10.

England would go on to win the game in extra-time thanks to a 110th-minute goal from Chloe Kelly. The Arsenal star repeated that feat in the Euro 2025 semi-final with Italy in the 119th minute.

The Lionesses’ odds of winning Euro 2025 are also slightly longer than what they were for the 2023 World Cup final.

Going into their clash with Spain in Sydney two years ago, most bookmakers had England as 9/5 underdogs, compared to slim favourites Spain at 17/10.

Spain’s odds are much smaller at 1/3 going into this Sunday’s final with England.

What were the best and worst odds for England during Euro 2025?

England were at 3/1 in the Women’s Euro 2025 outright odds before the tournament got underway.

The Lionesses were second-favourites behind Spain who were then priced at 2/1.

However, there was a major change after the Lionesses suffered a 2-1 defeat to France in their opening game.

If England failed to beat the Netherlands in their next game, then their chances of making it out of the group looked unlikely.

After the loss to France, the Lionesses were fourth favourites to win the tournament at odds of 7/1. This put them behind Spain (10/11), Germany (9/2) and France (5/1).

This was the biggest price that the Lionesses have been during a major tournament in Sarina Wiegman’s time in charge.

England’s odds though have steadily improved ever since and they have been the favourites in each of their matches before the Euro 2025 final.

Will there be a bank holiday if England win Euro 2025?

As things stand, the UK government has insisted that there are no plans for a bank holiday should England win the Euro 2025 final.

This is despite calls from Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer for a bank holiday if England won the Euro 2022 and 2023 World Cup finals.

SheKicks has launched their own petition calling for a bank holiday on Monday, July 28th, should the Lionesses beat Spain on Sunday.
