Work is advancing on new tribute areas for Marcelo Bielsa and Howard Wilkinson outside Elland Road’s East Stand, alongside the ongoing West Stand expansion.
According to Leeds Live, Leeds United announced last year that two additional spaces for commemorative legacy stones would be created, one for each former manager. Howard’s Way and Bielsa’s Place will sit on either side of the East Stand reception, with supporters able to buy personalised stones and some already installed.
Workmen have been seen on site this week and the pace suggests the areas could be ready for the new season.
Bielsa’s area will include a commemorative bucket in homage to his touchline perch. Wilkinson’s section will include a bespoke marble seat and a stone silhouette of Howard Wilkinson.
Wilkinson remains the last English manager to win the top flight after his 1991/92 title with Leeds. Bielsa ended United’s 16-year absence from the Premier League in 2020.
