Forty-eight teams are in North America for the 2026 World Cup, each with a designated base camp. A snapshot ranges from brand-new builds to bucolic hideaways and even rugby venues.
According to L'Équipe, Brazil have chosen the Columbia Park Training Facility in Morris Township, New Jersey, inaugurating the New York Red Bulls’ new complex opened six weeks ago. The site is billed as aiming to be the most innovative in North America, with 32 hectares and eight pitches fitted with cameras.
Belgium will use the Seattle Sounders’ training centre, offering top-tier facilities. New Zealand have opted for minimalism, with a single pitch at the Torero Stadium at the University of San Diego in California.
England will train at Swope Soccer Village, south of Kansas City, a nine-pitch complex set in woodland. Panama will be about an hour and a half from Toronto at a conferences-and-weddings venue with two 18-hole golf courses and two pitches used by Germany in their 1994 World Cup build-up.
Spain are based in Chattanooga in southern Tennessee, roughly two hours from both Nashville and Atlanta. Urban choices include Paraguay in the heart of San José, near San Francisco, and Iran in central Tijuana after switching base to leave the United States.
Many teams will rely on US schools and universities. Egypt are at Gonzaga University in Washington state, alma mater of John Stockton and Chet Holmgren, with Germany at Wake Forest in North Carolina, Croatia at Episcopal High School south of Washington DC, and France at Bentley University near Boston. DR Congo have chosen rugby grounds in Houston once used by the SaberCats, who folded last autumn after losing the final of a league that in 2026 shrank from 11 to six franchises.
