The 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico is under way, with 48 teams and free-to-air coverage in Spain on RTVE’s La 1 and RTVE Play. El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that the broadcaster will screen a daily standout match and every Spain game.

It will be the final World Cup for Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Neymar Jr. Spain arrive as European champions under Luis de la Fuente and are among the favourites. Much will hinge on 19-year-old Lamine Yamal’s form.
