Spain have settled into an idyllic base in Chattanooga for the opening phase of World Cup 2026. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Baylor School opened its doors on a rest day to let media capture the set-up.
Sporting director Aitor Karanka acted as host, guiding journalists through modern facilities and a vast press room designed for travelling reporters.
Beyond the entrance lies a pristine pitch, though the main concern may be the fierce heat on the banks of the Tennessee. Spain play their first two matches in Atlanta at 12.00, so acclimatisation to the midday conditions is part of the plan.
Past the field sit tennis courts and an imposing gym, packed with equipment and walls carrying motivational lines about teamwork, sacrifice and heart.
The complex also displays an image of the squad celebrating the European Championship with María Caamaño, the 13-year-old superfan who died of cancer, a reminder that resonates with the players.
Outside the gym there is a small pool for cooling off and, alongside it, a golf course where several players unwind among the trees.
A school basketball court and an Olympic pool round off a base that leaves Spain exceptionally well catered for.
