Norway hit back almost from the restart against France, Thelo Aasgaard dribbling past Dayot Upamecano and beating Mike Maignan at his near post.

According to L'Équipe, Stale Solbakken left 10 starters out, including Erling Haaland, yet his side did not give up.

Ousmane Dembélé had put France two up early, scoring in the seventh and 20th minutes as Norway were under pressure from the start.

Seconds after that second goal, Aasgaard weaved past Upamecano and fired inside Maignan's near post for his sixth international goal in only nine caps.

Dembélé answered about 10 minutes later, completing his hat-trick in the 33rd minute.

To take first place in Group I, Norway have no option but victory.
