Harry Kane is currently one of the players who stands a good chance of winning the title at the World Cup in North America. Furthermore, he has been and remains one of the best strikers and players in the world.
Quite a few experts believe that Kane has a good chance of winning the Ballon d’Or. However, given the stiff competition, he’ll need to have a strong World Cup to make that happen.
Kane already has two goals to his credit heading into the third and final group stage match. His two-goal performance against Croatia was crucial, but against Ghana, he failed to live up to his own potential.
Nevertheless, Luis Suárez, the Uruguayan striker who is not participating in the World Cup, has now raved about Kane. In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the former Liverpool and Barcelona striker—who is currently under contract with Inter Miami—spoke, among other things, about the level of play at the tournament and the Spanish team’s chances.
However, he was also asked which striker in world soccer currently impresses him the most. “I have two or three. Haaland is lethal in the penalty area, even if the team has to tailor its play to him. Personally, I prefer Harry Kane. He works much better with his teammates. His runs create space for others. He has a different understanding of the game. I particularly like those details,” Suárez explained.

Receiving such praise from a player of his caliber—who has played alongside many outstanding forwards throughout his career—is a great honor.
Kane now wants to prove in the upcoming matches that he’s not only a great striker but also has what it takes to lead the English team to victory in this tournament. And who knows—maybe the Ballon d’Or will follow.
