Olympiacos appear to have moved close enough to Charleroi’s financial expectations for the transfer to become possible.
The larger danger now comes from the market around the player.
A reported €9 million Wrexham offer gives Titraoui a Championship option with substantial financial weight and a direct route into the English leagues. Another unnamed European-qualifying club is also said to be involved, increasing the possibility that Charleroi can hold firm or encourage an auction.
Olympiacos cannot necessarily win by adding another small amount to the transfer fee. The decision increasingly belongs to Titraoui.
The club’s strongest argument is sporting clarity. He could arrive as an important central midfielder, compete immediately for Champions League football and play within a team that regularly sells performers into larger leagues.
Wrexham can offer the Championship, greater league-wide exposure(maybe some Disney+ appearances) and potentially stronger financial terms. But the pathway to immediate European competition and a clearly defined starting role may be less certain.
The reported request for one or two days indicates that the player has not rejected Olympiacos. It also means the club should not describe the operation as effectively complete, regardless of optimism around negotiations with Charleroi.
The next substantive development must be the player’s choice, an accepted offer or permission for a medical. Until then, the race remains genuinely open.
