Blues take on high-flying Championship side in FA Cup fifth round
The Blues, who bounced back from defeat to Arsenal by beating Aston Villa on Wednesday, have eliminated two Championship sides already in Charlton and Hull City.
However, a trip to Wales may prove the most difficult test yet.
Wrexham have gone through quite the transformation since receiving major financial investment after being taken over by Hollywood actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2020, climbing up the Football League pyramid and are now eyeing a big scalp.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game…
Wrexham vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 5.45pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
The match will take place at the Racecourse Ground, in Wales.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports. Coverage starts at 5pm GMT on TNT Sports 2.
The game is also being shown live and free to air on BBC One, with coverage beginning at 5.30pm GMT.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Discovery+ app and website.
Free live coverage will be available online via the BBC iPlayer as well as the BBC Sport website and app.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog, with expert analysis from Dom Smith at the ground.
Wrexham have doubts over Ben Sheaf, Liberato Cacace and Matty James, but Lewis Brunt and Aaron James are both sidelined through injury.
The hosts can call upon the likes of Jay Rodriguez, Kieffer Moore and Issa Kabore, on loan from Manchester City, while Arthur Okonkwo is expected to start in goal.
Liam Rosenior has a decision to make in between the posts after dropping Robert Sanchez for the win over Aston Villa. Filip Jorgensen impressed at Villa Park and may have done enough to keep his place.
Pedro Neto, the hat-trick hero from the fourth round win over Hull, is available again after serving a one-match suspension for his sending off against Arsenal last weekend.
With a Champions League last-16 first-leg against Paris Saint-Germain looming, Rosenior has to decide whether to rotate the likes of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, Reece James and Moises Caicedo.
Wesley Fofana is fine despite not finishing the Villa game but Estevao is unlikely to feature, joining Levi Colwil, Jamie Gittens and Dario Essugo on the sidelines.

This represents a banana skin of a cup tie for Chelsea. Wrexham are flying high in the Championship and, unlike Hull in the last round, are unlikely to rest key players to focus on their play-off push.
That said, the Blues have been very impressive under Rosenior and we expect them to avoid a cup upset.
Chelsea to win, 2-1.
Chelsea are unbeaten against Wrexham in three FA Cup ties, though did suffer defeat in the most recent meeting between the two sides - in 1982.
Wrexham wins: 2
Chelsea wins: 4
Draws: 3
Wrexham to qualify: 4/1
Chelsea to qualify: 1/6
