Thiago Pitarch has been one of the revelations of the pre-season for Real Madrid so far. The 18-year-old La Fabrica talent first impressed with Castilla, prompting Xabi Alonso to call him up to train with the senior squad earlier this month.
From that point on, there has been no looking back for Thiago, as he made his unofficial debut for Real Madrid in the training match against Leganes – even scoring in the victory.
A few days later, the 18-year-old midfielder was in action for Los Blancos again, featuring as a substitute against WSG Tirol in a friendly in Austria.
As confirmed earlier today, the La Fabrica gem has signed a new contract with Real Madrid.
Following that, journalist Marcos Benito of El Chiringuito claims that Thiago Pitarch is poised for a call-up to Real Madrid’s first La Liga game of the season against Osasuna.
Initially, it appeared likely that the 18-year-old midfield prodigy would be involved with Castilla as they begin the season against Ibiza on Sunday.
However, now, it is being claimed that Xabi Alonso plans to have him in the first-team squad for the opening game against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu.
So, there may be a distinct possibility that Thiago will make his official first-team debut for Real Madrid come Tuesday night.
Alonso has been requesting the signing of a new midfielder all through the summer, but the club hierarchy has been reluctant to sanction a move.
But with Pitarch’s emergence, the Real Madrid boss might now have found the player he had been looking for, with the 18-year-old’s potential and natural ability generating excitement within the club.
