Barcelona’s final UCL league stage game was filled with drama, not only on the field at the Spotify Camp Nou but also from results across the globe constantly changing the race for the top-8 spots.

With the Catalans determined to take a massive win to seal their place in the knockouts, FC Copenhagen broke out with an early lead just minutes after kick-off to turn the tide against Barcelona and complicate their ambitions.

The entire first half then passed without Hansi Flick’s side earning an equaliser and doubts began to creep in if they would indeed get the job done.

A flurry of goals in the second-half from Barcelona’s forward trio, however, turned the tide and helped the team to a 3-1 lead and sealed their place in the top-8. Marcus Rashford soon made it four with a stunning free-kick.

Barça Universal brings you the player ratings from Barcelona 4-1 FC Copenhagen.

Joan Garcia: 7.5

The Barcelona goalkeeper had a surprisingly busy half with Copenhagen looking dangerous on the counter, although their best chance was indeed the one they converted early in the night.

On that occasion, however, the goalkeeper did not have much of a chance and was far too out of his line to make a difference. Made a blunder at the end of the goal to concede but luckily had it ruled out.

Alejandro Balde: 7.5

Balde started at left-back after being rested in the previous game and looked lively on the flank, pushing high and combining with Raphinha.

Surprisingly, however, he did not succeed in making inroads into the final third as much as Kounde did

Gerard Martin: 7

Martin was decent as a centre-half and with the overall implementation of the high-line but his distribution at times was extremely wayward. His misplaced passes often fell straight to opposition forwards, handing over attacking chances for nothing.

Grew in confidence as the game progressed and was much better and convincing after the break.

Pau Cubarsi: 8

Cubarsi was more organised of the two central defenders at the back and looked in control of the proceedings largely after the initial goal conceded.

Played out of tight situations at the back with ease and led with composure.

Jules Kounde: 7.5

While Kounde did well to overlap with Yamal and get into the attacking box at times, his defensive show was far from impressive in the first half. The Frenchman was constantly outrun by Jordan Larsson and even misplayed several passes straight to opposition stars.

Eric Garcia: 7.5

With Pedri and Frenkie de Jong unavailable on the night, Eric Garcia was the leader in the defensive midfield and provided a largely convincing performance as he formed the basis of every Barcelona buildup.

His defensive work rate was convincing, as was his distribution. Came close to scoring the equaliser with a golazo but was denied by the woodwork.

Dani Olmo: 8.5

Olmo started as Eric’s partner in the double-pivot, but played a more advanced role as he looked to control and playmake on the night.

His link-up play was decent more often than not, although some of his decisions in the final third were questionable in the first half. Earned the pre-assist for the eventual equaliser as he found Yamal in space with a wonderful through-ball.

Fermin Lopez: 7

Lopez had an uncharacteristically poor first half as he struggled to make any impact inside the box. His only real involvement came in one or two touches with Yamal in the buildup.

The midfielder struggled to get into any goalscoring situation, but his defensive work rate was on point against Copenhagen.

Lamine Yamal: 9.5

Yamal was one of Barcelona’s most inspired players on the night as he constantly looked to single-handedly open up the visitors’ defence. He took on his men with tenacity, looked for the right crosses and even cut in to go for goal himself with every attack.

Provided a great assist for Lewandowski’s goal early in the second period. Went on to score the second goal on the night, although helped by a sizeable deflection.

Raphinha: 8

The Brazilian was visibly confused in the first half as his decision-making often took a staggered second more than it should have. He failed to strike from a situation he would normally score from, and was even disappointing with his press at times.

Came out much better after the break and even scored an unstoppable penalty to hand the team a 3-1 lead on the night.

Robert Lewandowski: 8.5

The Polish striker had the best chance of the first half but failed to put it to use. Nevertheless, he continued to look sharp and even found Raphinha to create another massive chance.

Scored early in the second period with a simple tap-in off Yamal’s assist to bring his side back into the equation. Won the penalty that handed the team a 3-1 lead later in the night.

Marc Bernal: 8

The youngster came on for Eric Garcia in what was a surprising half-time change by Hansi Flick, but the move worked wonders as Bernal immediately restored control over the tempo of the game and made the team look more comfortable on the ball.

Marcus Rashford: 8

Came on late in the game and continued his goalscoring run in the competition with a stunning free-kick goal – something that has become rare to see for Barcelona in recent times.
