Yamal double helps Spain sweep aside Croatia | OneFootball

Spain produced another attacking display as they beat Croatia 4-1 in Seville, with Lamine Yamal scoring twice and setting up another.

The European champions needed only 70 seconds to take the lead. Alex Baena and Marc Cucurella combined down the left before Yamal collected the ball and swept a finish into the far corner.

Croatia responded in the 28th minute when Ivan Perisic’s cross found Dion Beljo, who headed into the top corner. Spain restored their advantage three minutes later, as Yamal’s corner routine created the opportunity for Marc Pubill to power a header into the roof of the net.

Spain thought they had a third before half-time, but Mikel Oyarzabal was offside when converting a rebound. Fermin Lopez then struck the post with a curling effort.

Yamal added his second in the 63rd minute after Pedri sent him through. The Barcelona winger squeezed a finish inside the near post from a tight angle.

Nico Williams completed the scoring late on, cutting inside before firing past Dominik Livakovic.

Victory extends Spain’s unbeaten run to 40 matches inside 90 minutes.
