Four Eintracht Frankfurt players stood between Yan Diomande and the goal in the 27th minute of Saturday's game. None of them could stop him. He cut in from the right-hand side, dribbled across the edge of the box, chopped back on to his right foot and struck an unstoppable effort into the far corner.

Yan opens the scoring for the fifth time

Few players are capable of such feats. Yan is one of them. For the fifth time this season, Yan Diomande scored the opening goal of the game to break the deadlock. Only Dortmund's Serhou Guirassy (6) has opened the scoring more times this season than our number 49.

Yan's opener was also his 12th goal of the Bundesliga season at just 19 years old. Only Jadon Sancho was younger when he netted his 12th in his debut season (2018/19). Yan has now also moved to joint-top on the RB Leipzig top goalscorers list for this season, level with Christoph Baumgartner.

Yan was everywhere on Saturday afternoon, having the most shots (7) and contesting the most duels (34). He was also clocked as the fastest player on the pitch (35.4 km/h).

RBL head coach Ole Werner was full of praise for the 19-year-old, particularly with regard to his understanding of the game: "He knows where the space is and he doesn't have to do a lot to create it." Yan really is the complete package.

Ridle Baku was honest about his colleague: "We're just happy to have him on our team instead of having to defend against him." Ridle and Co. know how to use Yan. "We try as often as possible to get him into situations where he can swing the game in our favour."

It's not just Yan's teammates and coach who are full of praise for him. The fans voted him Man of the Match against Frankfurt and Kicker included him in their Team of the Week for the 7th time this season - only Harry Kane (11) has been nominated more.

Yan stays humble

How is Yan dealing with all this attention? He was as humble as always in his most recent interview: "I just try and get better every day in training. I'm pleased both personally and for the team that things are going so well for me."

With four games left in this Bundesliga season, Yan can still improve on what has already been an incredible campaign.
