Levante have signed Belgian forward Yanis Musuayi, seen as Carlos Espí’s successor but not a knee-jerk response to his sale. Club officials at the Ciutat de València agreed the move weeks before Espí’s transfer to Real Madrid was finalised.
According to Superdeporte, the 19-year-old has a first-team contract through 2030 that includes a 60 million release clause.
The decision followed months of close scouting in Belgium and in the Youth League, where Musuayi marked himself out as a forward with significant upside.
With major European clubs interested, including Barcelona, Levante moved ahead of rivals by paying 2.5 million upfront plus 500,000 in performance-related add-ons.
Musuayi now has the chance to earn a place under Luís Castro, a coach who picks his teams on weekly performance rather than reputation.
