The young Magpies defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the final via penalties after a 1-1 draw, with goalkeeper Lucas Flack the hero in the shoot-out while Muawiya Ghanem was on target against the French outfit.

The Toon teenagers, who won the U15 Premier League International Tournament last weekend, booked their place in the final after a 3-1 comeback win against Borussia Mönchengladbach following Charlie Robinson's brace and Jack Dawson's strike.

After scoring four goals during the tournament, Robinson won the Player of the Tournament award.

Newcastle's youngsters topped their respective group on Saturday, accruing eight points following two wins and two draws in the Netherlands.

The young Magpies began their Group D campaign with a 2-0 win against Supra Academy, courtesy of goals from Josh Kenchington and Robinson before recording a 2-2 draw against Estonian Talent Project, with efforts from Ghanem and Robinson overturning a two-goal deficit.

Newcastle's third group match ended in a 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland, with Bradley Walton netting for the young Magpies, before securing a 2-1 triumph over Club NXT, with Ghanem and Jack Skelton on the scoresheet to secure their passage in Sunday's semi-finals.

Graeme Coulson, Newcastle United's Under-15s Lead Coach, said: "It's been a brilliant couple of weeks for the boys.

"To win the Premier League International Tournament last weekend and then come to Rotterdam and lift the Orange Veins Cup is something that they should be really proud of and beating top sides along the way shows the strides they're making as a group.

"These trips are massive for their growth. Playing against elite teams from across Europe in new environments really stretches them and you can see how much they take from it.

"Most importantly, they've represented the club in the right way on and off the pitch and been a real credit to the club and their families."
