Mattia Zaccagni and Mario Gila are targeting comebacks for Lazio’s Coppa Italia semi-final return at Atalanta on 22 April.
La Lazio Siamo Noi reports that Gila could miss the upcoming fixtures with Fiorentina and Napoli as he manages knee inflammation from a knock at the Dall’Ara before the international break. The Spaniard is aiming to be back for the cup tie.
Zaccagni, sidelined by a grade II muscle injury against Milan, has made progress in recent days and is also working towards that date.
Maurizio Sarri’s side reached the last four by eliminating AC Milan and Bologna, then twice surrendered a lead to draw 2-2 in the first leg in Rome. The return takes place in Bergamo.
Patric should recover quickly and rejoin the squad for Monday’s meeting with Fiorentina after the issue that kept him out against Parma. His availability would help, with Danilo Cataldi visibly fatigued by the end of the weekend match.
Luca Pellegrini’s condition will be checked in the coming days, while Nicolo Rovella and Ivan Provedel remain long-term absentees.
Injuries have dogged Sarri’s team, yet their league form has steadied with three wins and one draw in their last four. With hopes of reaching the top 7 fading, lifting the cup remains their only plausible route into Europe.
