Zaniolo reaches new agreement with Udinese for contract to 2029 | OneFootball

Multiple sources confirm Nicolò Zaniolo has agreed a new contract with Udinese and will resume pre-season training from Tuesday.

It was an unusual situation, because he had arrived last summer on deadline day from Galatasaray, on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Because it was such a rushed move to get in before the door slammed shut on the transfer session, they agreed that the salary would be discussed at the end of the campaign.

Zaniolo and Udinese breakthrough

When that proved difficult, Zaniolo refused to attend pre-season training, instead sending a doctor’s note while his entourage continued the negotiations.

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more are all confident today that a verbal agreement has been reached.

It is reported by Calciomercato that his new wages will be worth €2m per season with bonuses, but the important element is the structure has changed.

This will guarantee more of a fixed salary rather than split it with the performance-related add-ons.

He is expected to resume training tomorrow, then sign the contract that will run to June 2029 with an option for another season.
