Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that he ‘definitely’ wants to return to coaching after a four-year hiatus, but has admitted that a move to take over at Juventus is unlikely as things stand, as he would prefer to take over the France national team.
Zidane was among the guest speakers at the Festival dello Sport in Trento over the weekend. The former Juventus and Real Madrid star spoke on Sunday, discussing his time in Italy, his experiences coaching the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema, and his possible moves in the future.

Zidane has not been involved in professional football since leaving Real Madrid at the end of his second stint in 2021, despite having three Champions League titles to his name.
When asked at the Festival dello Sport whether he has any intentions to get back into the dugout in the near future, Zidane replied: “I will definitely return.”
And when asked if Juventus could ever be a possible option for his coaching return, Zidane replied: “I don’t know. It hasn’t happened in the past, I made other choices. Juve is always close to my heart, they gave me so much when I first got there.
“In terms of the future, I don’t know. My feeling is that I want to be able to coach the national team in the future, even though I don’t mean right now. I would like to one day, but we’ll see.”
