Zlatan Ibrahimovic has offered his verdict on Neymar after the Brazil star announced his international retirement following the World Cup last 16 defeat to Norway. He hailed the Brazilian's brilliance, while suggesting some will argue he might have achieved more.

"He was an extraordinary talent, an incredible player. His skills and technique were crazy." He was speaking on Fox Sports.

Brazil were beaten 1-2 in the last 16, their first elimination at that stage since 1990. Neymar confirmed his decision after the game.

His stoppage-time penalty was his final goal for Brazil, leaving him on 80 in 130 caps.

"He will be remembered as a great footballer who came to Europe, he did well at Barcelona and PSG."

"But I also think people will say he could have done more than he achieved, because they think he could have won the Ballon d'Or." Neymar twice finished on the Ballon d'Or podium, in 2015 and 2017, behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
