Zlatko Dalic has voiced concern over Ivanovic’s limited minutes at Benfica, particularly under José Mourinho.

“Unfortunately, he hardly plays for Benfica. He only comes on for a few minutes,” he told Vecernji List.

The 22-year-old forward did not feature against Tondela in Benfica’s most recent match.

“I hope to get more minutes before the end of the season,” he told Gol.hr.

“He told me the overall situation at the club was not the best, a little difficult. He also told me to keep training like this and to give my best, that chances will come,” said Franjo Ivanovic.

Having already played for two clubs this season, he could not move on loan to a European side in the winter window. He is contracted to Benfica until 2030, with a €100 million release clause, and is valued at €20 million.

This season he has made 31 appearances, 15 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and two in the Taça da Liga, totalling 1,103 minutes, with five goals and one assist.
