Martín Zubimendi is using his final days off in Donostia to keep fit before returning to the Premier League.
According to Diario Vasco, the Arsenal midfielder trained at Antiguoko in Berio, the ground where he first played before moving to Zubieta and into Real Sociedad's academy.
Antiguoko posted, then deleted, a social media image showing him in training gear alongside a group of young players.
It is almost three weeks since Spain lifted the World Cup at MetLife Stadium, capping a tournament staged in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Zubimendi has spent his remaining downtime in his home city.
The midfielder is expected to rejoin the Gunners next week under Mikel Arteta after a first season adapting to the Premier League's physical demands. He initially impressed at Emirates Stadium but later saw his starting role reduced as Myles Lewis-Skelly emerged in midfield.
He now faces strong competition from Declan Rice, Mikel Merino, Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze and Lewis-Skelly, with the more than likely arrival of Bruno Guimaraes which would further crowd the midfield.
