13,366 enter ballot for Anoeta Copa semi-final tickets | OneFootball

Bilbao has gone into overdrive for the Copa semi-final second leg at Anoeta against Real Sociedad. A total of 13,366 Athletic members entered the ballot for one of 558 away tickets.

According to as.com, Real Sociedad sent 640 tickets, with Athletic reserving 82 for commercial commitments. The club conducted the draw in front of a notary.

The first number drawn was 3,359, so that entry and the next 557, up to 3,916, can purchase a ticket priced at €30. If any tickets are not collected, the club will contact subsequent sequential numbers until the allocation is exhausted.

Demand has been fuelled by the 1-0 lead held by Matarazzo’s side after Turrientes’ solitary goal in the first leg. The tie remains open ahead of Wednesday 4 March at Anoeta, kick-off 21:00.

Many plan a day trip to Donosti, roughly an hour from Bilbao by motorway, which is further boosting interest.
