Sport Bild reports that 1.FC Köln are raising the price tag for winger Said El Mala as he continues to attract more interest from abroad.
Earlier last month, it was reported that El Mala was close to joining Brighton, and a price of €35m would have been enough to prize him away from the Domstadt.
However, that move does not seem to be as far ahead as first thought, and Köln are in fact going to raise the asking price for the 19-year-old, amid interest from Newcastle and Chelsea too.
The new asking price for El Mala is €50m, Chelsea are said to be prepared to offer €45m. On top of this, Effzeh have bought out the sell-on clause that the winger’s previous club, Viktoria Köln, had, following is €225k move last summer.
This season has been the 19-year-old’s breakout year. In 27 Bundesliga games, he has 10 goals and four assists, making him the team’s top scorer as they continue to battle relegation.
