These two stars could find their way out of Huddersfield Town in the ongoing winter window

Huddersfield Town currently occupy a play-off place in League One thanks to a strong end to 2025, and the focus in January will be to have a strong window to help Lee Grant's side maintain that promotion push.

A departure by Leo Castledine this month, however, wouldn't be the best way to kick off business this month.

The Athletic have reported that the Chelsea loanee has a January break clause in his deal at the Accu Stadium, and that four Championship sides are interested in bringing him in for the second half of the campaign. This comes just days after FLW exclusively revealed that six second-tier sides had their ears to the door regarding the 21-year-old's availability.

With eight goals and an assist in his last 10 games, there arguably isn't a more in-form player than Castledine, and Huddersfield would hate to see his move cut short by the Premier League side.

But the same arguably can't be said about these other two players who have fallen out of favour at the Accu Stadium recently, and could likely be playing elsewhere at the end of the month.

Owen Goodman

After Owen Goodman enjoyed an incredible loan spell in League Two with AFC Wimbledon last season, where he was comfortably the best goalkeeper in the league, keeping 24 clean sheets, including all three in the Dons' play-off run, the obvious next step for the Crystal Palace shot-stopper was to be loaned to a top League One side.

Goodman was seen as a major coup for Huddersfield when they signed him on a season-long loan in July, but not many would be too concerned if he was recalled this month.

The 22-year-old does have four clean sheets in 10 league games, and was a key part of the strong start to the campaign the Terriers made, but a moment of madness resulting in a red card in a loss at Barnsley marked the beginning of the end, it seems.

Lee Nicholls took his place during the subsequent suspension, with Goodman relegated to EFL Trophy appearances.

The Palace loanee did take his starting spot back for a four-game stint in November, but after being susceptible to goals in a 3-3 draw with his former side, Wimbledon, he was relegated to the bench once more, where he's spent the last eight league games.

The FA Cup holders won't want to see their young keeper on the bench most weeks, so a recall and a relocation to another third-tier side could be something that Ollie Glasner's side decides to do this month.

Joe Taylor

A year on from making a £3 million switch to Huddersfield, Joe Taylor could be on his way out after completely falling out of favour in West Yorkshire during this current unbeaten run.

The Welsh frontman hasn't been used from the off much under Lee Grant, making just five starts in League One this season.

That being said, he's still managed to find the back of the net four times in league action, alongside a further three goals in the EFL Trophy, taking his tally to seven in all competitions for the season.

The emergence of Bojan Radulovic recently and his pairing with Alfie May have meant that Taylor has even missed out on matchday squads over the last month, with Dion Charles mainly being opted for as the backup striker.

Therefore, it wouldn't be a surprise if the 23-year-old angled for yet another move in search of more game time. It wasn't that long ago that he netted 21 times across loan spells at Colchester United and Lincoln City during the same campaign, and he'll be eager to rediscover that form.

Whether it's a loan or a permanent move, Taylor could wind up with a new team come the end of the month.
