A pair of frontrunners have already emerged in the race to replace Luis Carrión on the bench at La Liga outfit Las Palmas.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Diego Martínez and Eduardo Coudet as the tacticians in question.

Carrión’s place on the touchline in Gran Canaria is considered to be under increasing threat, owing to what has marked a dismal opening to the new campaign.

Across their nine La Liga outings to date, Las Palmas have failed to secure a single victory, sitting bottom of the Spanish top-flight table as a result.

Some outlets, in turn, have gone as far as to suggest that Carrión’s exit is a matter of when rather than if, with replacement candidates already being lined up as a result.

As per the aforementioned MD:

‘Diego Martínez, formerly of Espanyol and Olympiacos among other clubs, and the Argentine Eduardo Coudet, formerly of Celta, could be in pole position to replace the Catalan coach.’

Also under consideration for what would be a return to the Estadio de Gran Canaria is Quique Setién.
