MIAMI – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup kicks off on August 19, with ten clubs ready to write their name in history as the second champion in the history of the tournament.

The winner of the tournament will crown itself as the best club in the region and also secure a ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup and the 2028 FIFA Women’s Club World Cup.

What

The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup is the second edition of the premier women’s club competition in the Concacaf region.

The ten teams that will participate upcoming edition are:

·       Vancouver Rise FC Academy (Canada)

·       LD Alajuelense (Costa Rica)

·       Alianza Women (El Salvador)

·       Club América Femenil (Mexico)

·       CF Monterrey (Mexico)

·       CF Pachuca (Mexico)

·       Chorrillo FC (Panama)

·       NJ/NY Gotham FC (USA)

·       Orlando Pride (USA)

·       Washington Spirit (USA)

When

The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup will begin with the Group Stage on August 19 and culminate with the W Champions Cup Finals in May 2026.

The Group Stage of the second edition of the W Champions Cup will take place over the course of five weeks:

·       Group Stage Week 1: August 19-21, 2025

·       Group Stage Week 2: September 2-4, 2025

·       Group Stage Week 3: September 16-18, 2025

·       Group Stage Week 4: September 30 - October 2, 2025

·       Group Stage Week 5: October 14-16, 2025

The W Champions Cup Finals, including the Semifinals, Final and Third Place Match, will take place in a centralized location from May 20-23, 2026.

History

Following the successful conclusion of the inaugural Concacaf W Gold Cup in 2024, Concacaf announced its next strategic move in women’s football: the launch of the Concacaf W Champions Cup, the region’s first official women’s continental club championship.The W Champions Cup is an annual competition that includes the best clubs from North America, Central America and the Caribbean to crown a regional women’s club champion. The tournament will also be the sole path through which Concacaf region clubs can qualify for the new FIFA Women’s Champions cup and FIFA Women’s Club World Cup tournaments.

NJ/NY Gotham FC won the inaugural edition in 2024/25 by defeating Tigres UANL Femenil in the Final.

Format

The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup will kick off with a 10-club Group Stage. For this first stage, clubs were drawn into two groups of five clubs each, with each club facing every club in their group once, for a total of four matches per club (two at home and two away).

At the conclusion of Group Stage play, the top two clubs from each group will progress to the Semifinals of a final four centralized event. The event will include Semifinals, Third Place Match, and Final.
