Following a rather disappointing 4-4 draw against Atletico Madrid in their last game, which was the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, FC Barcelona have another important game coming up as they face Real Sociedad in La Liga.

Being tied on points with Real Madrid at the top of the table and being only a single point ahead of the Colchoneros, winning this game will be essential for the Blaugranes to ensure they stay at the top of the La Liga table at the end of this week.

The Catalans have already undertaken their last training session prior to this game, and according to Mundo Deportivo, one of the most notable absentees from this session was the forward Ansu Fati.

The 22-year-old Spaniard was unable to train with his teammates because of a fever. Thus, his chances of making the squad for this game, which were already low to begin with, keeping in view Flick’s choices for the last several weeks, are further reduced.

In addition to the La Masia forward, the goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen and the midfielder Marc Bernal were the other absentees from this session, as they continue to recover from their long-term injuries.

Andreas Christensen has already obtained the medical discharge and trained normally in this session, and Inigo Martinez was also present after he missed the training session on Wednesday due to the birth of his third child.

Diego Kochen was also a part of the group that participated in this training session, and he will be the third goalkeeper for the game against Real Sociedad.

Barcelona will go into this game already knowing the results of their two main opponents for the La Liga title, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, as both these sides are set to play today, against Real Betis and Athletic Club respectively.
