Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford is reportedly willing to make important sacrifices to extend his time at Barcelona.
The 28-year-old was cast aside by former MUFC head coach Ruben Amorim, which prompted a loan move to Aston Villa in January 2025, followed by a ‘dream’ transfer to Catalunya last summer.

The England international signed for the Blaugrana on loan with an option to buy for €30 million, but his fate remains a mystery.
In Recent weeks, Barcelona opened talks with the attacker’s entourage to negotiate terms beyond the current campaign.
In the meantime, it was reported that the LaLiga champions are gunning for a discount from Man Utd on Rashford’s transfer fee.
However, the Red Devils continue to insist on collecting the full €30 million, as they believe Rashford’s other suitors would be happy to match the price, or even go beyond.
Therefore, some reports in Spain revealed that the forward’s permanent transfer to Barcelona could collapse in the coming.
Nevertheless, football journalist Shaun Connolly insists that Rashford’s move remains very much on, with the player even willing to reduce his salary to adhere to the club’s wage structure.
“Contrary to this morning’s emerging reports, we’re advised that Rashford is happy to comply with internal requests to reduce his salary, with a focus on bolstering it through performance-related criteria,” posted Connolly on his X account.
Although he remains behind Lamine Yamal and Raphinha in Hansi Flick’s pecking order, Rashford managed to win over the German manager’s trust.
Following a positive start to the season, the England international endured a dip in form over the past few weeks, but he ended his goal drought by scoring the all-important equaliser in Saturday’s win over Atletico Madrid.
Based on the current market standards, many would consider signing Rashford for €30 million as a genuine coup.
Therefore, the striker’s transfer fee shouldn’t constitute an issue for Barcelona, but his salary was supposedly the main stumbling block, hence why the club’s sporting director, Deco, has been negotiating with the player’s agents for weeks.
But with Rashford reportedly willing to lower his wage, the deal should finally be unlocked, so it remains to be seen if Barca will decide to finalise the move in the coming weeks, or instead delay the announcement until the end of the season.
