£250k-a-week Man Utd ace now ‘living in a nightmare’ at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim is at a loss

With Ruben Amorim now finally able to boast an almost fully fit Manchester United squad, there remain two players who simply cannot catch a break.

Luke Shaw and Mason Mount have endured some of the most torrid luck on the injury front in the last two seasons that you’ll ever see in football. Neither is able to play for a consistent run of games without sustaining another setback and spending months on the sidelines.

Mount is the latest to return to the treatment room after he was withdrawn within 15 minutes of last Sunday’s Manchester derby triumph. It was a non-contact issue, which, in some cases, can be more concerning.

He pulled up early and dropped to the floor to stretch before receiving treatment from the physio staff. When they were unable to help, the midfielder exited the pitch while being consoled by a handful of his teammates.

Mount’s injury anguish strikes again

Ruben Amorim was quizzed on the condition of his No.7 in this week’s pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference. While he was unable to confirm the severity of the injury Mount suffered, he did provide some insight as to how the player has reacted.

“He’s really sad,” Amorim told reporters. “In the dressing room, he was really, really sad, so we need to help him. When the player is in this moment with a lot of injuries and with this schedule, and we have to maintain the load, and we have to travel, and with travelling, you cannot train, it’s really hard for them.

“We will try to find a better way to recover these kind of guys like Mount and Luke Shaw because, after a few weeks and a few months, they will be ready to cope with a lot of things.”

His comments come amid a report from Fichajes, which claims the 25-year-old is now ‘living in a nightmare’ at Old Trafford due to being granted no respite from his unrelenting injury anguish. Amorim, on the other hand, is believed to be at a loss over how to solve Mount’s woes.
