Here are five things to look out for on Wednesday.

⚔️ Match of the Day

PSG's clash with Manchester City is very much do-or-die for both sides in their bid to avoid the humiliation of being eliminated from the competition before the knockout action begins.

The French side currently sit in the bottom 12 and thus the elimination places, while City are just a point above them in a precarious position themselves as a result of their own stuttering form towards the end of 2024.

This was a semi-final meeting just four years ago and it is almost unthinkable that two of the tournament's perennial favourites should bow out before the play-off round.

However, for the side who loses (a draw isn't ideal for anyone either), it could make that a reality and heap plenty of added unwanted pressure onto their final fixture.

🔎 Team to Watch

Holders Real Madrid, like the aforementioned duo, are another side who have underwhelmed in the new format so far and have just nine points from their six games.

While the holders do not seem in too much danger of dropping into the elimination spots, it does increase the difficulty of securing a top eight spot and avoiding the potential banana skin of the play-off round.

They come into their contest with struggling Salzburg having hit nine goals in two games to bounce back from a heavy Supercopa loss against Barcelona, with Kylian Mbappé approaching his best levels.

All they can do is continue to win and pile the pressure on those currently occupying the prized automatic last 16 berths ahead of the final matchday.

🔥 Player to Watch

Versatile teenage Sporting wide man Geovany Quenda is destined for a bright future in the game.

Catch him against Leipzig where he will be out to add to his impressive statistics in this season's competition.

The 17-year-old has featured in all of his side's games so far and started five of them, with those five starts being more than all other Portuguese players combined in Champions League history before turning 18.

Girona have had a cruel campaign of it so far, receiving a tough introduction to life at the top table, marred by a series of unfortunate defeats - five from their six games.

Their chance of advancing are remote but not impossible yet and they could take a step towards a shocking rescue effort with victory at San Siro against Milan.

The Rossoneri have responded impressively from losing their first two games with four consecutive wins but results and performances this season under both Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceição have been frustratingly inconsistent.

If the uglier side of Milan turn up again, it could pave the way for one of the most memorable nights in Girona's history.

📊 Fascinating stat

No team's Champions League fixtures have resulted in more goals this season than Feyenoord with 29 (14 goals scored and 15 conceded).

Should they find the net against Bayern Munich here (a team who have scored nine in one game and five in another already themselves) they would be just the third side ever to both score and concede 15 in their first seven games: following Porto in 2017/18 and Tottenham in 2019/20.
